Kansas City, MO – May 20, 2015 — Identification Systems Group (ISG), the nationwide network of local identification system integrators, announces its donation to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) in Tampa, Florida. The ISG donated more than $30,000 to the SOWF from its Eighth Annual Charity Golf and Auction event in Tampa, FL on April 27, 2015.
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) began in 1980 after the daring attempt to rescue 53 American hostages in Iran, which ended in tragedy when a helicopter and C-130 aircraft collided. Eight souls were lost and they left behind 17 children. A battlefield promise to take care of those 17 children has become the noble cause of the SOWF.
The SOWF ensures full financial assistance for a post-secondary degree from an accredited two or four-year College, university, technical or trade school, as well as educational and family counseling to the surviving children of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations personnel who lose their lives in the line of duty. The foundation also provides immediate financial assistance to severely wounded and hospitalized special operations personnel.
“We were thrilled when ISG told us they had chosen the Warrior Foundation as their charity for 2015,” said Wendy Bourland, SOWF public relations manager. “The donation they gave us will go a long way toward funding college for the sons and daughters of U.S. Special Operations warriors who gave their lives in service to our country,” she said. “These children deserve the education their parent would have wanted for them.”
The ISG event team led by Danielle Jorgensen, worked with SOWF personnel and solicited auction items and cash donations from its Members and Partners. Danielle (ISG Marketing Manager), Bill Scott (Data Equipment, Member) and Tom Stiles (ISG Executive Director) comprised the ISG event team.
“The ISG wishes to thank its Members and Partners for their generous contributions to the success of the golf tournament and auction,” said Tom Stiles, ISG executive director. “We are pleased to contribute to this wonderful heroic charity and feel blessed that we can do our part in helping the soldiers that so bravely fight for our country. We look forward to another successful event next year.”
